<p><strong>Combination:Memories of Jiangnan (roughly China's eastern regions south of the Yangtze River)</strong></p> <p>The mascots of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou are a group of robots proclaiming the host city's profound heritage and contemporary vibrancy. The combination-Memories of Jiangnan-derives its name from a poem by Bai Juyi. This great poet of the Tang Dynasty wrote, "When I recall Jiangnan, Hangzhou brings back most of my memories." The name itself speaks volumes about Hangzhou's heritage, scenic splendor and drive for innovation.</p> <p>The mascots of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, transcending time and space, inspire everyone to reach for their dreams. They stand for not only the joy of sports but the culmination of cultural and economic development, so much so that they agree with the character of Hangzhou and proudly join the ranks of the emblem and slogan of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou. The three mascots are named Chenchen, Congcong and Lianlian. This trio of robots will act as the envoys of the Olympic spirit, peace and friendship. Together, they are calling out to Asia and the world, inviting everyone to meet in Hangzhou for the Asian Games.&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Congcong</strong></span></p> <p>The robot Congcong represents the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, which is also inscribed on the World Heritage list. It derives its name from the Cong jade pendant-the quintessential relic unearthed from the Ruins. Exuding the eternal charm, this Cong jade pendant of exquisitely carved patterns is synonymous with the Liangzhu culture.&nbsp;</p> <p>Congcong is proof of the 5,000-year Chinese civilisation. It takes yellow, the colour of earth and bumper harvest, as the main tone. As the quintessential symbol of the Liangzhu culture, the mythical beast facial patterns on its head speak for indomitable courage and self-transcendence.&nbsp;</p> <p>Determined, sincere, kind-hearted, athletic and passionate, Congcong reflects an indomitable enterprising spirit and inspires people to persevere and pursue better life.&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Lianlian</strong></span></p> <p>The robot Lianlian represents the West Lake, another World Heritage site. It derives its name from the lakeful of lush lotus leaves. The Chinese people love lotus leaves because they are associated with purity, nobleness and peace.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Lianlian is graceful and light-gaited, as seen ambling amid the lake's misty willows, exquisite bridges and lush lotus leaves. It takes green, the colour of life and nature, as its main tone. Its lotus leaf-shaped headpiece is distinctively decorated with the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, a scenic view of the West Lake, and the icon of Internet.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Pure, kind, lively, cute, elegant and hospitable, Lianlian reflects a refined, graceful, harmonious and open-minded spirit and conveys the aspirations for building a community of shared future for mankind.&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Chenchen</strong></span></p> <p>The robot Chenchen represents the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, which is inscribed on the World Heritage list. It derives its name from the Gongchen Bridge-a landmark structure in the Hangzhou section of the Grand Canal. The bridge, with a history of over 400 years, bears beautiful memories for many generations.</p> <p>Chenchen joins together the Grand Canal, the Qiantang River and the world beyond the sea. It takes blue, the colour of science and technology, as the main tone. It has the Qiantang River's tide atop its head and the Gongchen Bridge on the forehead, only leaving endless room for imagination.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Brave, intelligent, optimistic and enterprising, Chenchen symbolizes the inclusiveness of our time and connects Asia with the world.</p>
Mascot
<p>Title of Emblem &ndash; Tides Surging</p> <p>The entirety of the Emblem consists of two parts, the main motif and the lettering. The main motif comprises six elements, namely the fan shape, the Qiantang River and its tidal bore, the track, the Internet icon and the sun as the Emblem of the Olympic Council of Asia. Below the motif is the lettering denoting the Host City and the year of the Asian Games.</p> <p>The fan shape reflects the cultural heritage unique to the southern regions of the Yangtze River; the track represents the competition in sports; the Internet icon embodies the strengths of Hangzhou in Internet business; The sun stands for the Emblem of OCA.</p> <p>The Qiantang River and its tidal bore are the core el-ements of the Emblem Design. They are the spectacle of nature that evokes the vibrancy of sports. They not only depict the surging momentum of river tides, but also induce the association with human courage in riding the tides. Interpreted as both the momentum and courage, the surging tides have the implied meaning that the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era is gathering even greater momentum in Zhejiang Province.</p> <p>On the Asian level, the surging tides are seen as the unity of the Asian NOC Fami-ly, marching forward hand in hand.</p>
Emblem
<p>The torch of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 is named "Eternal Flame". The design was inspired by the Liangzhu Culture that is testament to the 5000-year-old Chinese civilization. Apart from the majestic shape with profound implications, the torch also presents to the world the unique creativity of Chinese design and its manufacture prowess.</p> <p>The torch is shaped in a way that "grows" from bottom to top, with an overall height of 730 millimetres and a net weight of 1,200 grams.</p> <p>The base of torch is embossed with eight water veins symbolising the evolution of civilisation and representing the eight major river systems in Zhejiang;</p> <p>The torch body is designed based on the evolution from dermatoglyphic fingerprint patterns specific to the Liangzhu Culture, which are naturally intertwined and exquisite.</p> <p>The torch head is characterized by the meaning of Jade Cong, one of the ritual jades, showing a harmonious square-round integration; and the burner nozzle is&nbsp;designed from the earliest oracle bone inscription of "􆥛" (literally Jade Cong) with the implied meaning of "light traveling in cycle inside". In the big picture, the&nbsp;profile curve is like firewood in hand, a combination of motion and quietness that gives people infinite reveries of the past, the present and the future.&nbsp;</p> <p>Eternal Flame&nbsp; means that the Chinese civilisation is passed on from generation to generation. The torch is characterized by Jade Cong and threaded upon&nbsp;with Chinese heritage, natural sceneries and local customs. Not only does this pay tribute to and represent the inheritance of Chinese culture, but also it shows the&nbsp;world&nbsp; the&nbsp; real&nbsp; ancient&nbsp; China,&nbsp; modern&nbsp; China&nbsp; and&nbsp; future&nbsp; China&nbsp; in&nbsp; a&nbsp; visualized&nbsp; way&nbsp; across&nbsp; the&nbsp; board.&nbsp; The&nbsp; design&nbsp; is&nbsp; intended&nbsp; to&nbsp; shine&nbsp; a&nbsp; more&nbsp; brilliant&nbsp; light&nbsp; on&nbsp; this&nbsp;sacred land of Chinese civilisation.&nbsp;</p> <p>Eternal Flame&nbsp; speaks to the unity of athletes from all countries and regions in diversity. The torch features eight grooves on all sides, converging to the @ icon&nbsp;at&nbsp; the&nbsp; top&nbsp; center.&nbsp; The&nbsp; form&nbsp; of&nbsp; a&nbsp; river&nbsp; of&nbsp; life&nbsp; used&nbsp; is&nbsp; symbolic&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp; gathering&nbsp; of&nbsp; athletes&nbsp; from&nbsp; various&nbsp; countries&nbsp; and&nbsp; regions&nbsp; in&nbsp; Hangzhou&nbsp; to&nbsp; celebrate&nbsp; the&nbsp; grand&nbsp;occasion together, echoing the slogan of the Games, "Heart to Heart, @Future". The dermatoglyphic pattern ends with Chinese knot tassels to demonstrate the unity&nbsp;in diversity of athletes involved in the Asian Games with oriental elements, with good wishes to build a community with shared future for mankind.&nbsp;</p> <p>Eternal Flame&nbsp; shows the charm of intelligent manufacturing in Zhejiang. Backed by natural flame and intelligent technology at the core, the torch even stands&nbsp;out among the torch designs from previous major events. After repeated trials and optimisations, it has seen technical obstacles overcome in process, materials,&nbsp;production&nbsp; and&nbsp; transportation.&nbsp; The&nbsp; raw&nbsp; materials&nbsp; are&nbsp; digitally&nbsp; mapped&nbsp; to&nbsp; the&nbsp; blockchain,&nbsp; and&nbsp; the&nbsp; traceability&nbsp; mechanism&nbsp; is&nbsp; used&nbsp; to&nbsp; ensure&nbsp; authenticity.&nbsp; For&nbsp; the&nbsp;metal part, the AA 1070 rotary forming process is adopted with the surface undergoing laser engraving and anodization. The grip made of recycled raw materialsis&nbsp;eco-friendly, light and easy to hold, and the fuel is heated with biomass gas, which is safe, clean and reliable.</p>
Torch
<p>On June 15, the 100-day countdown to the Hangzhou Asian Games, the medal of the 19th Asian Games was released.</p> <p>The medal of the 19th Asian Games is named Shan Shui, which is another core element of the Asian Games, along with the official emblem Tides Surging, mascots Congcong, Chenchen, Lianlian, colour system Meeting the World and torch Eternal Flame. It is an important addition to the overall aesthetic of the event.</p> <p>Shan Shui is characterized by the ceremonial jade Cong in the Liangzhu Culture (5,300BC-4,300BC). This square jade, integrated with a round medal, is truly unique and highly recognizable.</p> <p>Shan Shui presents the geographical features of Hangzhou. By using protruding lines, the picture scroll of Hangzhou is outlined on the front side of the medal with misty hills on three sides and the city on one side, a rippling lake, and undulating mountains beyond. The back side is shaped like a square seal, which means the athletes leave a beautiful mark on the Hangzhou Asian Games.</p> <p>Shan Shui expresses the temperament of Hangzhou as the capital of ecological civilization, with natural landscape, clear water and green hills, creating invaluable assets, casting gold and silver medals.</p> <p>Shan Shui shows the sportsmanship of climbing the heights. Reaching the top, one will become even higher. On the way to the summit, athletes strive hard, challenge themselves, and surmount one peak after another.</p> <p>The medal will be made by embossing, milling, trimming and polishing, gold and silver plating effect treatment, and protection treatment. The medal ribbon will be hand-stitched on both sides using brocade jacquard technology and environmentally friendly printing techniques. The bridge-shaped buckle at the top of the ribbon highlights the Jiangnan characteristics of the water town and the bridge town. The linking method adopts the raw ear structure of the spring buckle shaft to fix the ribbon inside the medal.</p>
