Another racquet sport in Asian Games 2006, Squash has grown in popularity like no other game in the quadrennial event. Squash players are confined in a court of four walls. The players have to bounce the ball from any wall of the court before it hits the ground.
The ball has to remain within marked lines as well. The points in a Squash game are awarded on the number of times you can stop the opponent from returning your shot.
And, all this has to be done before the ball bounces twice. Squash competitions are held between singles and doubles players.
Although the game of Squash gained popularity as late as the 1980s, today, it is followed in more than 140 countries in the world. According to the Asian Games history, Squash was included in the event schedule from the 1998 Bangkok Games.
