The emblem depicts a dove; the symbol of peace, and also the "H" of Hiroshima, thereby reflecting Hiroshima's desire for peace.
The OCA emblem and the dynamic lines reaching out in all directions are suggestive of an athlete in motion. The red color represents overflowing energy and youth.
The emblem was designed by designer Akira Ishikawa, and chosen as the Hiroshima Games Official emblem in March 1990.
