Pakistan Olympic Association calls for applications for IOC scholarship programmes

Lahore, Pakistan, July 9, 2020: The Pakistan Olympic Association has called for applications for online scholarship programmes on Sports Medicine and Protection of Clean Athletes offered by the International Olympic Committee.

In a letter written on July 2 by Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, Secretary General of the Pakistan Olympic Association, all affiliated units of POA were asked to submit applications for six diplomas and certificates offered by the IOC.

“We are pleased to inform that the IOC in its endeavour to strengthen NOCs with advanced medical knowledge and skills for athletes and sports has offered, with scholarship, distance learning educational programmes on Sports Medicine and Protection of Clean Athletes,” Mahmood said.

The programmes are: (1) Certificate in Drugs in Sport; (2) Certificate in Mental Health; (3) Diploma in Mental Health; (4) Diploma in Physical Therapies; (5) Diploma in Sports Medicine; (6) Diploma in Sports Nutrition.

The programmes range from three months – Certificate in Mental Health – to two years for Diplomas in Sports Medicine and Sports Nutrition, and will start in September, 2020.
