Male, Maldives, July 3, 2020: The Maldives Olympic Committee has announced that football coach Ahmed Shakir has been appointed Ambassador of the International Coaching Course at Leipzig University, Germany.
“We extend our congratulations to Ahmed Shakir (Shakittey) for being appointed as the Ambassador of the International Coaching Course of Leipzig University,” the Maldives Olympic Committee said in a Facebook post.
“Shakittey is among the few Maldivians who have been awarded the Diploma in Football after completing the International Coaching Course conducted by the Sports Faculty of the University of Leipzig, Germany in 2014.
“The course, which awards a DFB (German Football Association) A level standard certificate, provides its participants with profound and science-based knowledge as well as competence in the methodology of sports training.
“We hope the appointment of Shakittey as the Ambassador will strengthen the cooperation between the University of Leipzig and our local coaches seeking opportunities to enhance their coaching career.”
