Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, July 3, 2020: The United Arab Emirates’ leading male fighters will get a chance to stake a claim for a place in the national jiu-jitsu team during two training camps organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation in July and August.

The training camps, which will be run in partnership with the International Vision Investment Group, will start on Monday, July 5, and go on until the July 25, with the second being held from August 2-22, both at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City.

“The UAE has a steadily growing number of gifted young fighters, and the goal of these two training camps is to ease fighters back into action. We are trying to ensure that fighters from all nationalities across jiu-jitsu clubs get the chance to train under our renowned coaches and push their case, whether for a place in the national team to represent the UAE in international competition or to improve their skills on the mat,” said Mubarak Al Menhali, technical director of UAEJJF.

The federation has extended invitations to male jiu-jitsu athletes from all clubs, and over the age of 14 years, regardless of technical skill and experience, to participate.

The governing body of jiu-jitsu in the Emirates has put in place a series of stringent safety protocols to safeguard the health and wellness of all participants and coaching staff in the ongoing fight against COVID-19.

Each participant will undergo a coronavirus test on arrival at the camp and will isolate until they get their results.
