Afghanistan NOC marks International Day of Sports Journalists

Kabul, Afghanistan, July 2, 2020: The Afghanistan National Olympic Committee has sent a message of congratulations to the country’s sports media as a mark of respect on the International Day of Sports Journalists, July 2.

“Congrats on the International Day of Sports Journalists,” said the post on the NOC’s Facebook page (@OlympicOfficial.af).

“July 2 marks International Sports Journalists Day and an opportunity to recognise the efforts and services of journalists, writers and photographers on the path of sports growth.

“The leadership of the Afghan National Olympic Committee on this day sends congratulations to all sports journalists of the country who have always been involved in the coverage of sports events and wishes them progress, success and dignity.”

The NOC President, Dr. Hafizollah Wali Rahimi, is pictured with sports journalists in Afghanistan.

Last week, Afghanistan National Olympic Committee marked Olympic Day on June 23 with a series of events in different sports, including tennis, golf, shooting, swimming and cycling, followed by a closing ceremony.
