Oman Olympic Academy holds digital course on sports media

Muscat, Oman, July 2, 2020: A three-day online sports media course organised by the Oman Olympic Academy is being held to enable members of the Oman Olympic Committee and National Sports Federations to come to grips with the workings of modern media.

The digital course, which began on June 30 and ends July 2, aims to provide media professionals and all connected to sports media - including athletes, technicians and administrators - with all the new trends in media and publishing platforms. 

It also offers practical advice and experience in producing sports content for each form of media in addition to providing the participants with the skills of dealing with the media.

Dr. Saba Naguib Jarrar, Head of the Sports Science Department at the Arab American University in Palestine, gave lectures in the course, with 15 representatives involved in media from the Oman Olympic Committee, National Sports Federations and other media institutions.

The course included many topics, such as a current picture of global, regional and national sports media, new sports publishing platforms like social media, basic skills in covering sports for different publishing platforms, and basic skills in writing for sports publishing platforms.
