Hong Kong, China, June 25, 2020: The Asian Electronic Sports Federation is preparing to stage its second Charity Cup online tournament as part of the “Your Home Your Arena” campaign.
The first edition of the Charity Cup was contested by representatives of eight countries in the Southeast Asia zone. The quarter-finals were held on June 4 and the semi-finals and final on June 11, when Indonesia beat Singapore 3-1 to win the title in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang edition.
The second AESF Your Home Your Arena Charity Cup is due to take place on July 10 in the King of Fighters edition. Although the line-up has not been confirmed, the targeted countries and regions are mainly in East Asia with China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong-China and Chinese Taipei, along with Indonesia and Thailand from Southeast Asia. The distribution platforms will Douyu, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.
The AESF reports that the first Charity Cup livestream attracted 109,400 views, with 93,800 on Facebook and 15,600 on YouTube.
The Indonesia Esports Association registered 30,400 total views on Facebook for the final, while the E-Sport Federation Cambodia reported 674,000 views for their national qualifying competition to gain the right to represent Cambodia in the AESF Charity Cup.
The AESF Your Home Your Arena campaign is designed to keep e-sports enthusiasts active during lockdown while building a community spirit and raising money for charity.
