Malaysia NOC welcomes Sports Commissioner for talks

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, June 22, 2020: The Sports Commissioner of Malaysia, Dr. Wirdati Mohd Radzi, made a courtesy visit to the Olympic Council of Malaysia HQ on Monday, June 22. She was accompanied by Hajah Siti Nazariah Abdul Razak, the Chief Assistant Sports Commissioner.

The main objective of their visit was to have closer working relationship with the OCM.

They were welcomed by the President of the OCM, Dato’ Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, and Executive Board members Dato’ Paduka Mumtaz Jaffar, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Shamala Subramaniam, Tan Sri Mohamad Noor Abdul Rahim, Ahmad Feisal Ahmad Tajuddin, Dato’ Amarjit Singh, Moira Tan Siew See and Chan Foong Keong.

The two parties discussed many topics such as the amendments to the Sport Development Act 1997, the registration of sports bodies, the arbitration process to deal with disputes, the development of sports industries and the educational programmes for sports administrators.

The OCM will be setting up Task Force Committees with the Sports Commissioner’s Office on topics of interest from time to time to deal with issues pertaining to the development of sports in Malaysia.

“We are looking forward to renewing the working relationship between the OCM and the Sports Commissioner’s Office” said Dato’ Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria.
