Jakarta, Indonesia, June 18, 2020: Indonesia’s double Asian Games champion Aries Susanti Rahayu is part of the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Day social media campaign.

The 25-year-old sport climber has produced a short video displaying her home training exercises to keep fit during the coronavirus lockdown.

She explains her three main training activities including weighted pull-ups, squats while holding a 10kg barbell and a circuit training exercise to strengthen her legs and abdominal muscles.

“Keep the Olympic spirit alive,” she says at the end of the video.

Aries Susanti won two gold medals in sport climbing at the 18th Asian Games in Palembang. They came in the speed and speed relay disciplines at Jakabaring Sports City.

Nicknamed “Spiderwoman” due to her remarkable speed, balance and agility climbing the wall, she also holds the world record in speed climbing of 6.995 seconds set in Xiamen, China in 2019.

The video is part of the IOC’s “Stay healthy, stay strong, stay active with the Olympic Day home workout on June 23” campaign and features athletes from around the world on the Olympic Channel.

The IOC says: “Get ready to sweat, as Olympic Day is coming on 23 June! Participants from all over the world will unite to commemorate the day the International Olympic Committee was founded in 1894.”
