Kathmandu, Nepal, October 28, 2026: The President of the Nepal Olympic Committee, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, bid farewell to the Nepali delegation that will represent the country at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
Nepal will be represented by four athletes in three sports. They are swimmers Aviv Pradhan and Aarya Maharjan, judoka Shubhanan Timalsina and Rashmi Tamang in athletics.
Addressing the participants, President Shrestha congratulated them on their selection for the Youth Olympic Games. He encouraged the athletes to make the most of the opportunity, perform to the best of their ability and make the country proud.
The farewell ceremony was held at the NOC headquarters in Satdobato and hosted by NOC Secretary General Rajiv Shrestha.
Also present on the occasion were NOC Vice Presidents Ashok Ratna Bajracharya and Dhawa Gurung, Hon. Vice President Deepak Harsha Bajracharya and NOC Member Lhakpa Tsering Lama, among others.
