Taipei, October 20, 2026: The 49th Session of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Academy opened on October 8, 2026, marking the start of a four-day program.
Reflecting a growing commitment to placing athletes at the heart of the Olympic Movement, this year's Session was held under the theme "Empowering Inclusion, Integrity and Responsibility for Every Athlete".
The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Chia-Fu Tsai, President of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee; Mr. Hisashi Sanada, President of the Japanese Olympic Academy; and Ms. Wakako Yuki, Vice President of the Japanese Olympic Academy.
Their attendance reflected the close ties between the two Academies and their shared commitment to advancing Olympic Education.
The Session brought together 78 young participants, including 10 international students from Palau, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Korea.
Over the four days, participants deepened their understanding of the Olympic Values of "Excellence, Friendship and Respect" through in-depth lectures, experience sharing, panel discussions and group projects. Orienteering and cycling activities further encouraged teamwork, communication and cooperation, allowing participants to experience these values first-hand and put their classroom learning into practice.
The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee and Academy remain steadfast in their commitment to bringing the Olympic Movement to wider communities.
