Oman NOC promotes Olympic culture and education

Muscat, Oman, October 13, 2026: The Oman Olympic Committee is continuing to deliver the Olympic Culture and Values Education Programme across a number of Governorates in the country.

The Oman Olympic Association in cooperation with Olympic Solidarity held the "Olympic Values Torch Tour in the Sultanate of Oman” in Al Buraimi Governorate over the weekend. A total of 18 participants were involved.

These efforts are aimed at promoting Olympic culture and raising awareness of the principles of the Olympic Movement and its educational and humanitarian values, as well as instil positive behaviour among young people, students and athletes.

The programme will continue in Musandam Governorate on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 13-14, before moving on to Dhofar Governorate on October 18-19.

This is part of a plan to broaden the programme’s reach and engage diverse groups within the sports, education and community sectors.

The programme, supported by the IOC through Olympic Solidarity, draws on the educational materials and guidelines of the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP), which promotes the use of sport as a tool for education and character development.
