Ramallah, Palestine, October 13, 2026: The Palestinian National Authority for the Development of Sport, in partnership with the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and the Palestine Olympic Committee, held a workshop entitled "Priorities for Development and Advancement of Sport and Palestinian National Associations".
The workshop was held in Bireh City last Saturday, October 10, and attended by representatives of national federations and sports bodies, plus a large number of athletes.
Abdul Majeed Hajja, CEO of the Development Authority, welcomed all participants on behalf of Palestine Olympic Committee President Major General Jibril Rajoub and Supreme Head of the Authority, stressing the importance of supporting the southern governorates, strengthening national unity, investing in opportunities to develop Palestinian sports, and enhancing the role of the national media.
Abdul Majeed also underlined the need to support the federations and develop the capabilities of its athletes and technical and administrative staff, to continue supporting the sports family in Gaza and the northern governorates and Jerusalem.
He also called for benefiting from the experience of the Palestine Football Association and strengthening the partnership between the media and sports bodies.
The interactive workshop addressed a number of topics, including the challenges facing sports federations, athlete empowerment and the role of the Military Sports Federation in the Palestinian sports system.
