IOC approves reallocation of Olympic, YOG medals

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 10, 2020: The IOC Executive Board has approved the reallocations of medals, diplomas and medallist pins from three editions of the Olympic Games and one Youth Olympic Games following decisions made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Reallocations - confirmed at the IOC EB meeting on Wednesday, June 10 - concerned the Olympic Games of London 2012, Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 as well as the YOG Buenos Aires 2018.

Following the disqualification of some athletes, the results have been adjusted accordingly by the International Federations involved:

1. Olympic Games London 2012 – Athletics – 20km Race Walk – Women  

The following athletes have been disqualified: Olga KANISKINA (RUS – Silver Medal) and Anisya KIRDYAPKINA (RUS – 5th place).  

World Athletics has modified the results accordingly from 2-8: 2, Shenjie QIEYANG (CHN); 3, Hong LIU (CHN); 4, Xiuzhi LU (CHN); 5, Elisa RIGAUDO (ITA); 6, Beatriz PASCUAL (ESP); 7, Ana CABECINHA (POR); 8, María VASCO (ESP).

2. Olympic Games London 2012 – Weightlifting – 85kg – Men  

The following athlete has been disqualified: Mikalai NOVIKAU (BLR -7th Place). 

The International Weightlifting Federation has modified the results for 7-8: 7, Kendrick James FARRIS (USA); 8, Sherzodjon YUSUPOV (UZB). 

3. Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 – Ice Hockey – Women   

The following athletes of the sixth-placed Russian Federation have been disqualified: Inna DYUBANOK, Anna SHIBANOVA and Galina SKIBA.

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has modified the results accordingly, disqualifying the RUSSIAN FEDERATION and issuing a new ranking for team places 6 to 7: 6, GERMANY; 7, JAPAN (Yurie ADACHI, Kanae AOKI, Moeko FUJIMOTO, Nana FUJIMOTO, Yuka HIRANO, Mika HORI, Shiori KOIKE, Yoko KONDO, Akane KONISHI, Hanae KUBO, Ami NAKAMURA, Azusa NAKAOKU, Chiho OSAWA, Tomoko SAKAGAMI, Miho SHISHIUCHI, Sena SUZUKI, Aina TAKEUCHI, Ayaka TOKO, Rui UKITA, Tomoe YAMANE and Haruna YONEYAMA). 

4. Olympic Games Rio 2016 – Athletics – Women’s 400m  

The following athlete has been disqualified: Olha ZEMLYAK (UKR – 7th place).

World Athletics has modified the results accordingly. Therefore, the new ranking for the athlete placed 7 is as follows:  7. Libania GRENOT (ITA) 

5. Olympic Games Rio 2016 – Athletics – Women’s 4x400m  

The following athlete has been disqualified:  Olha ZEMLYAK (UKR – 5th place).

World Athletics has modified the results accordingly, disqualifying Ukraine. Therefore, the new ranking for the teams placed 5 to 7 is as follows:  5, Italy; 6, Poland; 7, Australia.

6. Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 – Weightlifting – Women’s +63kg  

The following athlete has been disqualified: Supatchanin KHAMHAENG (THAI – Gold Medal).

The IWF has modified the results accordingly: 1, Dilara NARIN (TUR); 2, Dolera DAVRONOVA (UZB); 3, Kanah Shenelle ANDREWS-NAHU (NZL).
