During the meeting, Dr. Muften expressed his happiness at the opportunity to meet the official delegation from the State Legislature, underlining the importance of parliamentary support for sport, in particular Olympic sports.
The NOC President emphasised that promoting the sports sector required the integration of roles between the state and the provision of legislation and opportunities that will contribute to the development of sport in Iraq.
The meeting discussed the achievements of the country in sport in recent times, both at continental and international levels, as well as what support is needed to take Iraqi sport to the next level.
On their part, the House of Representatives delegation expressed their happiness with the meeting, and appreciated the proposals put forward by Dr. Muften, confirming that supporting Iraqi sport was a shared responsibility that required the coordination of efforts at various levels.
