Nagoya, Japan, October 2: The International Testing Agency (ITA), on behalf of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), reports that a sample collected from track and field athlete Aiana Bolatbekkyzy from Kazakhstan has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding[1] for the non-specified prohibited substance Drostanolone metabolite - 3α-hydroxy-2α-methyl-5α-androstan-17-one.
Drostanolone is prohibited under the WADA Prohibited List as S1.1 Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS). It is classified as a non-specified substance and prohibited at all times (in- and out-of-competition). Drostanolone is a synthetic anabolic steroid that enhances muscle hardness and strength.
The sample was collected by the ITA under the testing authority and results management authority of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) during an in-competition anti-doping control on 27 September 2026 in Nagoya, Japan.
The athlete has been informed of the case and has been provisionally suspended with immediate effect until the resolution of the matter in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and the OCA Anti-Doping Rules. This means that the athlete is prevented from competing, training, coaching, or participating in any activity, during the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
The athlete has the right to challenge the imposition of the provisional suspension before the Court of Arbitration for Sport – Anti-Doping Division (CAS ADD).
The athlete also has the right to request the analysis of the B-sample.
Given that the case is underway, there will be no further comments during the ongoing proceeding.
