Nagoya, Japan, October 1, 2026: Defending champions India thumped Sri Lanka by 124 runs on Thursday, October 1 to storm into the final of the men’s cricket competition at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.

In the earlier semi-final at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by six wickets to earn a place in the gold-medal T20 match on Saturday, October 3.

Led by a stellar knock from Ishan Kishan, who made an unbeaten 80 off 46 deliveries with four fours and five sixes, and a quick-fire 38 from teenage star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, India racked up 169 for seven in 20 overs.

The Lankan chase was jolted in the very first over by spearhead Jasprit Bumrah snaffling two wickets. A procession of wickets, including three run-outs, left the Sri Lankans in abject despair as they were dismissed for 45 in the 10th over.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in a match curtailed to 13 overs due to a wet weather delay. After Bangladesh piled on 111 for seven, Pakistan romped through to the target in 11.3 overs to reach their first final at the Asian Games.

Sri Lanka will contest Bangladesh for the bronze medal on Saturday.
