Nagoya, Japan, September 30, 2026: A coordination committee meeting of the 14th South Asian Games member countries was held in Nagoya on Monday, September 28, on the sidelines of the Asian Games.
The meeting was chaired by Jeevan Ram Shrestha, President of Nepal Olympic Committee and head of the SAG Coordination Committee.
Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, Secretary General of the South Asian Olympic Committee and the Pakistan Olympic Association, briefed the committee on the preparations for the upcoming Games.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to hosting the 14th South Asian Games on schedule from April 3-17, 2027, with preparations underway.
Jeevan Ram Shrestha emphasised the importance of holding the Games on a regular cycle and strengthening these Games as an important pathway to the Asian Games.
The last South Asian Games was held in December 2019 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The committee discussed key preparations, including the Games preparation time frame, sports entry deadlines and the Chefs de Mission meeting. Members expressed their commitment to working collectively for the successful and timely organisation of the 14th SAG.
The committee also appreciated and thanked the Pakistan Olympic Association for its ongoing preparations and efforts towards hosting the Games.
