Nagoya, Japan, September 30, 2026: His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Olympic Council of Asia and President of Qatar Olympic Committee, met a delegation from the Qatar 2030 Asian Games Organising Committee Observer Programme at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
The meeting was also attended by H.E. Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain, Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, and Dr. Ahmad Abdullah Al Buenain, CEO of the Doha 2030 Asian Games Organising Committee, along with other members of the delegation.
During the meeting, Sheikh Joaan discussed the progress of the Doha 2030 delegation’s participation in the Observer Programme, noting that it offered an opportunity to learn about the organisational and operational aspects of the current Games and gain practical insights and experience in organising the Asian Games.
Qatar hosted the Asian Games previously in 2006.
