Nagoya, Japan, September 29, 2026: Vietnam defeated the Philippines 2-0 in the women’s double sepaktakraw final at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Gymnasium on the morning of Tuesday, September 29.
The Vietnamese combo of captain/feeder Nguyen Thi Thu Trang and striker Nguyen Thi Khanh Li beat the Filipina tandem of striker Jean Marie Sucalit and captain/feeder Abegail Sinogbuhan 2-0 (15-8, 15-4).
Vietnam controlled the final against their southeast Asian rivals – but the Philippine Olympic Committee still took heart from the silver medal-winning performance.
“Despite the tough loss in the final, the silver medal stands as a massive triumph for Team Pilipinas, proving that our Sepaktakraw program remains an elite force on the continental stage,” the POC posted.
“The nation stands incredibly proud of these athletes for bringing immense honor to the country!”
