Nagoya, Japan, September 27, 2026: Team Hong Kong, China has reported further success at the 20th Asian Games.
Squash players won both the gold and silver medals in the mixed doubles event on Sunday, September 27, with Tang Ming Hong and Lee Ka Yi clinching gold with an 11-8, 11-3 victory.
This marks the fifth gold medal of Hong Kong, China at this edition of the Asian Games, bringing the team's current tally to 5 gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals. The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China extends its heartfelt congratulations to the athletes and the squash team.
Mr. Wong Po Kee, Honorary Deputy Secretary General of SF&OC and Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China delegation, said: “Both teams delivered outstanding performances, reaching the final and competing against each other. Tang Ming Hong and Lee Ka Yi prevailed in the end to win the gold medal, while Toby Tse and Matthew Lai took silver.
“They made history by sweeping the gold and silver medals, and stood alongside on the podium. This is the fifth gold medal for Hong Kong, China at the Asian Games. We wish the squash team continued success in the upcoming events.”
