Nagoya, Japan, September 25, 2026: After almost a week of grueling competitions at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, no one is more proud—and relieved—of the country’s breakthrough gold medal than Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino.
Following Carlos Yulo’s epic victory in the men's floor exercise on Thursday, a visibly elated Tolentino was immediately surrounded by members of the Philippine sports media.
Beaming with national pride alongside other sports officials, the POC chief shared his immense joy with reporters, celebrating the momentous win that finally put Team Pilipinas on top of the podium.
“With the golden icebreaker finally secured, the momentum has officially shifted for the national delegation,” the POC said, hoping for a gold rush in the next few days.
