Nagoya, Japan, September 23, 2026: The President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, Dr. Norza Zakaria, presented the medals at the wushu women’s nanquan & nandao event at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall on Tuesday, September 22.
Dr. Norza, who is also President of the SEA Games Federation, OCA Vice President for South East Asia and Executive Board member of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association, was accorded the great honour of presenting the medals to the podium finishers: Zhang Yaling (China - gold), Darya Latisheva (Uzbekistan - silver) and Cheong Min Tan (Malaysia - bronze).
“I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to all the podium finishers of the wushu women’s nanquan & nandao event,” said Dr. Norza.
“My special congratulations go to Ms. Cheong Min Tan for her outstanding performance in contributing a bronze medal for the Malaysian contingent.
“I would also like to extend my congratulations to Dr. Kim Fatt Chong and the Wushu Federation of Malaysia for their hard work and dedication in laying a strong foundation for the development of wushu in Malaysia, which has enabled our athletes to achieve a podium finish at the Asian Games,” he concluded.
