Nagoya, Japan, September 22, 2026: The atmosphere inside the wushu venue, Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall, reached fever pitch as China’s Li Jianming captured the men’s Nanquan and Nangun all-round title with a total of 19.563 points.
Exhibiting a rockstar approach to his craft, Li blended power with effortless grace and fluidity that left judges and spectators spellbound. Reflecting on his victory, Li stated: “I am proud of the gold medal. The competition was fierce, and everyone pushed their limits, which makes this victory feel all the more special.”
Hot on his heels was Hong Kong, China’s Lau Chi Lung, who secured the silver medal with a stellar 19.456, while Chinese Taipei’s Liu Chang-min rounded out the podium with a hard-earned bronze at 19.430.
Sharing his thoughts on the battle, Lau remarked, “I knew the field was exceptionally strong, especially with athletes like Li Jianming setting such a high benchmark. Standing on this podium alongside such talented competitors is an honour I won’t forget.”
Li Jianming, a powerhouse representing China, has long been a dominant force in international wushu circuits, renowned for his high difficulty scores and charismatic execution.
Alongside him, silver medallist Lau Chi Lung is a seasoned competitor who has consistently proven his mettle for Hong Kong on global stages, including outstanding performances at the World Wushu Championships, bouncing back from an 11th-place finish at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.
Bronze medallist Liu Chang-min, representing Chinese Taipei, is a precise stylist who has steadily built a reputation for clutch performances in major multi-sport events, improving significantly on his 6th-place finish from Hangzhou 2022.
