Nagoya, Japan, September 21, 2026: Olympic medalist and medical doctor Abdel Rahman Al Masatfa secured a bronze medal for Jordan at the 20th Asian Games on Monday, defeating Palestine’s Mahmoud Daifallah 4–0 in the Men’s Kumite -67 kg.
Competing on Tatami 1 at the Toyohashi Gymnasium, the Jordanian doctor demonstrated sharp tactical precision to shut out his opponent.
"The dream was to win a gold medal, but Alhamdulillah for everything. I’m proud of this achievement, and Insha’Allah, even greater success is yet to come." Al Masatfa said.
Widely recognized across the Arab sports community for balancing an elite international athletic career with his profession in medicine, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist adds another major accolade to Jordan’s martial arts tally. The result marks his fourth consecutive Asian Games medal, following silver at Incheon 2014 and Hangzhou 2022 and bronze at Jakarta-Palembang 2018.
