Nagoya, Japan, September 20, 2026: Thailand won the women’s doubles teqball gold medal at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 after defeating Myanmar 2–0 at Nagoya City Higashi Sports Center on Sunday.
Jutatip Kuntatong and Suphawadi Wongkhamchan controlled the final from the opening exchanges, taking the first set 12–6 before sealing the title with a 12–3 victory in the second.
Kuntatong entered the Asian Games as the reigning world champion in both women’s singles and doubles after claiming both titles at the 2025 Teqball World Championships in Transylvania. She is also ranked world No. 1 in both categories.
Celebrating Thailand’s success, Wongkhamchan dedicated the achievement to those who supported their journey.
“I’m very happy to have won these two medals. I dedicate them to all Thai people, my family and everyone who has supported and followed teqball throughout.”
Myanmar’s Hsu Mon Aung and Phyu Phyu Than collected the silver medal following their run to the final.
Hsu Mon Aung expressed pride in their achievement and paid tribute to the people behind the team’s success.
“I’m very happy to have won this silver medal. I dedicate this medal to my coaches and my country. Thank you so much.”
Lebanon’s Maria Chedid and Kamar Dandal earned bronze alongside Cambodia’s Sophornraksmey Yorn and Sreymeas Mey, with both pairs reaching the semifinals.
After receiving her medal, Chedid thanked those who contributed to her development as an athlete.
“Thank you to the Zwaiz Foundation and Aziz Abdelhardan for sponsoring me and helping me grow.”
Thailand finished the competition with gold, Myanmar took silver, while Lebanon and Cambodia completed the women’s doubles podium with bronze medals.
