Nagoya, Japan, September 20, 2026: Rinata Sultanova gave Kazakhstan its first gold medal at the 20th Asian Games when she won the women’s individual road cycling time trial on Sunday, September 20.
Sultanova claimed victory in 36 minutes 23.72 seconds on the first day of competition after the continental showpiece was officially opened on Saturday, September 19.
China’s Zhang Hao took the silver in 36:28.40, and Korean Shin Ji-eun won the bronze in 36:56.14.
This is Sultanova’s second Asian Games. At the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou, she won the bronze medal in this same event.
