Asia Rugby appoints Chinese official Wang Yun as Vice-President

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 17, 2026: Asia Rugby has appointed Wang Yun, President of the Chinese Rugby Football Association, as a Vice-President of Asia Rugby.

 

The appointment was made by the Asia Rugby Executive Committee in accordance with the relevant provisions of the organisation’s Articles of Association and Regulations.

 

Asia Rugby President Qais Al Dhalai said: “We are pleased to welcome Mr. Wang Yun as a Vice-President of Asia Rugby. China is an important member of the Asian rugby family, and Mr. Wang brings significant leadership experience and a strong commitment to the continued development of our sport.

 

“His appointment enables us to maintain representation from East Asia within our Vice-Presidential leadership while strengthening the collective experience of the Executive Committee as we continue to grow rugby across the continent.”

 

Wang Yun said: “It is an honour to be appointed as Vice-President of Asia Rugby. China is committed to contributing to the wider growth of the game, and I look forward to supporting greater collaboration and creating more opportunities for rugby across the region.”
