Nagoya, Japan, September 17, 2026: The Athletes Department of the Olympic Council of Asia briefed National Olympic Committees and team officials on the upcoming OCA Athletes Committee elections at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 during the Chefs de Mission meeting on Wednesday, September 16.
The presentation highlighted the key arrangements and called for their support in encouraging athletes to participate in the election.
The election process was presented by the Manager of the OCA Athletes Department, Mr. Jamyang Namgyal, who said that voting would take place from September 20 to October 2, with the results to be announced on October 3 – the day before the closing ceremony.
Eligible athletes can vote at designated locations at the Asian Games, including the athlete accommodation centers on the cruise ship at Kinjo Pier and the villas at Garden Pier, or through the online voting platform.
Athletes will need to log in using the details on their Games accreditation card, with each eligible athlete entitled to one vote.
The presentation also highlighted the candidate profiles and videos being made available to help athletes learn more about those standing for election. The OCA media team will continue promoting the candidates and the election throughout the voting period.
My Jamyang sought the help of the CdMs and the team managers and NOCs to help spread the word among their athletes and encourage them to vote.
“Every athlete’s voice is important, and we need the support of team managers to make this a successful election by ensuring that athletes are aware of the process and take part,” the department said.
The Nagoya 2026 election will add four athletes to the existing OCA Athletes Committee giving athletes from across Asia the opportunity to directly participate in selecting their representatives to the OCA Athletes Committee.
