Oman NOC celebrates Olympic Day 2026

Muscat, Oman, September 15, 2026: The Oman Olympic Committee celebrated Olympic Day 2026 under the theme "You Can Do This! Let’s Move".

 

The event was held under the patronage of OOC President HH Sayyid Azzan bin Qais Al Said and was attended by a number of sports personalities and members of the community.

 

Olympic Day 2026 featured a diverse programme of sports and interactive activities, including a 1.7km walk, which provided participants with the opportunity to engage in physical activity collectively.

 

Participants also experienced sports such as taekwondo, karate, athletics, badminton, table tennis, teqball, sepak takraw, 3x3 basketball, wheelchair basketball and tennis.

 

A Strongest Man competition was also held comprising a number of physical strength challenges, including lifting a car and logs.

 

On the awareness side, the event included a number of educational booths hosted by committees of the OOC, such as Sports Medicine, Anti-Doping, Women and Gender Equality, Athletes Committee and Sport for a Sustainable Environment.

 

The event also featured community and awareness booths in partnership with the Omani Special Olympics Association and the Oman Cancer Association, in addition to a medical screening booth in collaboration with Al Maabilah Health Centre.

 

Children were able to take part in face painting, skateboarding, drawing and colouring as well as a variety of games and activities.

 

Through Olympic Day 2026, the OOC sought to make sport part of the daily lives of the community, promote the values of movement, participation and cooperation and introduce participants to different sports and Olympic values.
