Nagoya, Japan, September 15, 2026: Over 9,000 media will cover the 20thAsian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, according to the latest figures released by the Olympic Council of Asia.
A total of 2,734 media will attend, along with 6,571 from broadcasting, giving a grand total of 9,405.
The media numbers include 1,292 journalists and 988 photographers, while the broadcasting numbers comprise host broadcaster (3,858) and rights-holding broadcasters (2,713).
The Shanghai-based China Media Group-International Media Port (CMG-IMP) is the host broadcaster of the 20th Asian Games, which will run from September 19 to October 4, while 23 rights-holding broadcasters have signed up.
The Director of Media and Broadcast for the OCA, Mr. Jeans Zhou Jian, commented: “The OCA and organising committee AINAGOC are very satisfied with the high number of press and broadcasters that will attend the 20th Asian Games.
“This proves the enduring appeal of the Asian Games within the global Olympic sports movement, not just in Asia but around the world.
“We are convinced that our host broadcaster, CMG-IMP, will provide the highest quality of services available, and that our TV rights-holders will be able to receive and project the best possible images in the industry.”
The Main Media Centre, comprising the Main Press Centre and International Broadcast Centre, is located at Nagoya Port Messe and will be the HQ for all media operations.
