Taif, Saudi Arabia, September 13, 2026: The head of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Gennadiy Golovkin, has been elected Vice-President of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association.
Elections were held on Saturday, September 12, as part of the 15th General Assembly of ISSA in Taif, Saudi Arabia.
Golovkin will join the ISSA Executive Committee for the period of 2026-2029 as Vice-President for the Asia and Europe region.
His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, was re-elected as President of ISSA.
In November 2025, Golovkin was elected President of World Boxing to become the first person from Kazakhstan to head an International Federation of Olympic Sports.
