Nagoya, Japan, September 13, 2026: The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC) has issued a list of requirements for members of the public attending the opening ceremony on Saturday, September 19.
“To enter the opening ceremony, prior visitor information registration and identity confirmation on the day of the event are mandatory,” AINAGOC states.
Also, temporary entry restrictions will be implemented on the day, so AINAGOC is asking people to make sure to check the following before coming to the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.
*Mandatory prior visitor information registration, one person per ticket. The registration period closes at 23:59 on Thursday, September 17.
*Items to bring on the day: AINAGOC will conduct identity confirmation at the venue, requiring the opening ceremony ticket and original identity confirmation such as a driver’s license.
*Entry restrictions will be implemented after the warm-up stage starts (16:00-17:20).
*AINAGOC strongly recommends entering between 13:30 and 16:00 before the warm-up stage starts. Once someone leaves the stadium, they will not be allowed back in.
*On the day of the event, there is expected to be a large queue due to baggage screening and identity verification. “Please arrive with plenty of time to spare,” AINAGOC recommends.
Schedule for the day:
13:00 - Identity verification begins
13:30 – Gates open
16:00 – Warm-up stage begins
18:00 - Opening ceremony begins
The opening ceremony is expected to run for two hours, finishing at 8pm.
