Nagoya, Japan, September 13, 2026: The Olympic Council of Asia is determined to create a “safe sport” environment throughout the continent – and will use the upcoming Asian Games to hammer home the point.
In a social media campaign, the OCA promotes the “safe sport” mission through a series of recommendations under the following headlines:
*Give Respect
*Know My Boundaries
*Speak Up
*Ask for Help
*Say No to Bullying
*Own My Actions
“Everyone has a role in keeping sport safe,” the campaign states.
“Notice it. Speak up. Support others. Together, we can make sport a safer place for everyone.”

The OCA will conduct a safeguarding session for National Olympic Committees at the Garden Pier at Nagoya Port on September 21. The session will focus on practical aspects such as the first response to a safeguarding concern.
Safeguarding will also be one of the themes in the OCA’s “Guarding the Asian Games” booth at the Garden Pier and Athletes’ Village cruise liner at Kinjo Pier from September 20 to October 3. Other topics include mental health, anti-doping and the prevention of competition manipulation.
With the Asian Games running from September 19 to October 4, and with 11,000 athletes and 6,000 officials from the OCA’s 45 National Olympic Committees in attendance, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 represents a wonderful opportunity to promote “safe sport” around the continent.
