Bangkok, Thailand, September 8, 2026: Thailand’s sports associations have set a combined target of 14 gold medals at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya from September 19 to October 4, the Nation Thailand reports.
Sepak takraw (4) and teqball (3) account for half the gold medal target, with another seven sports each aiming for one title: kurash, jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, golf, athletics, sailing and esports.
The figures represent the sports associations’ ambitions ahead of the competition.
The National Olympic Committee of Thailand’s published plan lists 694 athletes, comprising 356 men and 338 women to compete in 42 sports represented by 46 sports associations.
