Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, September 2, 2026: Following the successful launch of Guardian Girls Malaysia on Friday, August 28, GGM conducted the inaugural Southeast Asia Women Citizen Dialogue on Saturday, August 29 at Bangi Resort Hotel, Selangor.
The event began with a presentation entitled “Empowering Women Athletes - Fighting Energy Deficiency” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farrah Hani Imran, Senior Lecturer and Senior Consultant at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, who is also a member of the Olympic Council of Malaysia Medical and Anti-Doping Committee.
The highlight of the event was the signing of Letters of Intent for future collaboration among the following entities: Guardian Girls Malaysia, United Nations University International Institute for Global Health, United Nations Population Fund Malaysia, Olympic Council of Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and the National Council of Women’s Organisation Malaysia.
Mr. Mohd Nasir Ali, OCM Secretary General, signed the Letter of Intent for and on behalf of NOC Malaysia.
Two forum discussions were held: “Safe to Compete, Strong to Lead: Confronting Systematic Barriers for Malaysian Women Athletes” and “Beyond the Glass Ceiling: Confronting Structural Barriers and Cultivating Resilience for Women’s Leadership in Malaysia and ASEAN”.
