Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, September 1, 2026: MIAT Mongolian Airlines JSC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mongolian National Olympic Committee.

Under the MoU, the two sides will work together to promote and popularize the Olympic movement in Mongolia and promote the national air carrier's operations and distinctive strengths internationally, particularly within the sports sector and other fields.

Speaking about the agreement, T. Telmen, CEO of MIAT Mongolian Airlines, said: “Through this memorandum, we will support and cooperate with the athletes, coaches and support staff of Mongolia's national teams in every possible way.

“We will offer certain discounts on MIAT flights to athletes representing Mongolia at continental and world championships, other international competitions and the Olympic Games.

“In turn, national team athletes and Olympic Committee staff will choose to fly with MIAT and will help promote the company internationally.

“On this basis, the two sides have signed a mutually beneficial memorandum of cooperation. The MNOC has already begun competing in the qualifying events for the 2028 Olympic Games and is currently finalizing preparations to see off its athletes to the Asian Games.”

Battushig Batbold, President of the MNOC, added: “We are renewing our partnership agreement with MIAT. We signed a cooperation agreement four years ago at a time when we were preparing for the Asian Games.

“This time, more than 300 athletes from Mongolia will compete at the upcoming Asian Games, which opens on September 19.

“Two years from now, at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, we plan to send 30–40 athletes. To this end, partnering with our national air carrier MIAT to support our athletes is our biggest goal.”
