Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, September 1, 2026: The Mongolian National Olympic Committee held a flag presentation ceremony for the team heading for the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya this month.
The ceremony took place at the Mongol Ger (traditional Nomadic dwelling) established during COP17 – the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification – on Monday, August 31.
Mongolia will be represented by a delegation of more than 400 athletes, coaches and officials, with over 300 athletes competing across 31 sports.
Joining the ceremony were Ulaanbaatar City Governor and Mayor B. Purevdagva, Team Mongolia Chef de Mission and Member of Parliament Kh. Battulga, Member of Parliament Kh. Bulgantuya, representatives of the sporting community, coaches and athletes.
The Mongolian national team flag was presented to 3x3 basketball player Ch. Temuulen and International Master of Sport in volleyball P. Enkhkhuslen.
Since making its Asian Games debut in 1974, Mongolia has won 184 medals — 27 gold, 53 silver and 104 bronze medals. At Hangzhou 2022, Team Mongolia brought home 21 medals, comprised of three gold, five silver and 13 bronze medals.
“Behind every athlete are years of hard work and dedication, the support of their families and coaches and the encouragement of the Mongolian people,” said Mongolia NOC President Battushig Batbold.
“We are proud of our athletes and confident that they will once again represent Mongolia with determination and honor on Asia’s biggest sporting stage.
