Nagoya, Japan, August 30, 2026: Asian Games athletes will get a true taste of Nagoya at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya next month.
The athletes’ dining hall at Garden Pier in Nagoya Port will offer plenty of local favourites along with the standard international cuisine and halal and vegan selections.
Nagoya Meshi is the cultural cuisine unique to Nagoya City and Aichi Prefecture, enjoyed by the locals at home and in eateries.
It includes tebasaki (spicy Nagoya fried chicken wings) and kishimen (flat noodles).
Asian Games athletes from 45 countries and regions will be able to sample this on a daily basis in the dining hall.
“This dining area offers a diverse menu that incorporates local Nagoya-meshi and Aichi-produced agricultural products, not only catering to halal and vegan diets,” organising committee AINAGOC said.
“The chefs and staff, who value ‘supporting the best performance’ and ‘delivering the charm of Aichi and Nagoya through food’, provide thorough safety management and warm hospitality with a smile.
“We can't wait to see the amazing performances these athletes, fueled with plenty of energy, will deliver at each competition venue,” AINAGOC said.
A total of 35 dishes will be served at the dining hall in the athletes' village at the Port of Nagoya Garden Pier to support athletes' physical condition and fatigue recovery.
