Colombo, Sri Lanka, August 27, 2026: The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka concluded its 3rd Sports Administrators Course 2026, with the programme specifically targeted at Team Sri Lanka officials preparing for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
The four-day course from August 20-23 at Olympic House in Colombo brought together 48 participants, including 16 women, representing national sports federations, clubs, universities and schools.
It also provided Team Sri Lanka officials bound for the 20th Asian Games in Japan from September 19 to October 4 the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge, practical skills and understanding of effective sport administration, leadership and governance.
The course was conducted by National Course Directors Group Captain (retd.) Nalin de Silva, Dr. Shemal Fernando, Ms. Anoma Rathnayaka and Gobinath Sivararjah, with Dr. Shiromi Pilapitiya serving as guest facilitator.
Participants highlighted the course as a valuable opportunity to develop both their professional knowledge and confidence in sport administration.
The successful completion of the course reflected Sri Lanka NOC’s continued commitment to capacity building, professional development and strengthening the standards of sports administration.
