Hangzhou, China, June 1, 2020: The organising committee of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2022 will start recruiting volunteers in the summer of 2021, HAGOC announced on May 22.
Volunteers will offer services for the 2022 Asian Games and Asian Para Games. They will be assigned to different positions and help guarantee the games go smoothly. Volunteer recruitment will open around summer vacation of 2021.
Recruitment will be conducted online. Applicants should follow the official website, WeChat account and Weibo account for the latest information. There will be a general selection after all sign-ups are registered.
Volunteers must abide by the laws and regulations of China and accept the guidance and management of the volunteer department of the organising committee HAGOC. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old by September 1, 2022.
Volunteers must be able to offer services for the entire duration of the Asian Games from September 10-25 and Asian Para Games from October 9-15. They must undergo all of the required training and related activities and acquire the necessary knowledge and basic skills.
HAGOC adds that all volunteers must be healthy both mentally and physically. They must also be able to communicate fluently in Chinese or English.
Those who have experience in similar games, who can serve during test events, have professional knowledge and skills (including but not limited to interpretation and translation, listening and speaking in minority languages, medical services, information technical support) or have other professional skills that are conducive to promoting the preparation and operation of the games will be given priority in the final selection and confirmation.
