Kuwait City, Kuwait, August 22, 2026: The Olympic Council of Asia will be entering a refugee team at the 20thAsian Games in Aichi-Nagoya next month.
The team will comprise of only two athletes, both competing in taekwondo.
The official name “OCA Refugee Team” will be used for protocol-related events, including the Opening Ceremony on September 19 and Closing Ceremony on October 4. The team’s official clothing will be provided by 361°.
During the competition, the team will be identified as the Asian Refugee Team (ART).
Regarding the display of flags at the taekwondo venue, the OCA flag shall be displayed immediately after the Oman flag in the designated flag order.
If an ART athlete wins a gold medal, the OCA flag will be raised and the OCA anthem will be played during the victory ceremony.
In the athletes’ parade at the opening ceremony, the OCA Refugee Team will enter the stadium after the Yemen Olympic Committee and before the host NOC, Japan.
