Tehran, Iran, August 20, 2026: The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran held an Olympic Solidarity course for team managers who will participate at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
The programme addressed operational, logistical and team management issues and requirements.

“This edition of the Asian Games has particular features. Given the absence of an Athletes’ Village, the dispersal of competitions across different venues and cities and the different accommodation arrangements, team managers must pay close attention to these matters,” Dr. Alinejad noted.
He added: “We are currently in special circumstances. Despite the imposed war and rising costs, the government has made every effort to support sending the Iranian delegation to these Games and has provided both foreign and domestic currency funding. Therefore, we expect the team competing at these Games to face their opponents with maximum discipline and maximum effort.”
Dr. Alinejad said all travel and accommodation arrangements had been made, and asked team managers to convey this to the athletes and support staff.
The NOC Secretary General expressed confidence that, despite the war and the temporary closing of training camps, the determination of the athletes and the efforts of sports federations, coaching staff and national team members, better results would be achieved than in the previous edition.
Iran finished seventh overall in the medal standings at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games with 13 gold, 21 silver and 20 bronze medals.
