Malaysia’s CDM visits teams preparing for Asian Games

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, August 18, 2026: In preparation for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, Malaysia’s Chef de Mission YB Dato' Mohd Sumali Reduan has started a series of visits to national teams to assess their readiness and boost team morale.

The Chef de Mission, who is Vice President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, President of the Malaysian Sepaktakraw Federation and Vice President of the International Sepaktakraw Federation, was accompanied by the Deputy Chef de Mission, Ms. Syaidatul Afifah Badrul Hamidi.

The first of a series of visits ahead of the September 19-October 4 Asian Games covered squash, shooting, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, karate and sport climbing at their respective training venues from August 6-14.

During the visits, the Chef de Mission and Deputy CDM engaged with the athletes and coaching teams, offering encouragement and motivation ahead of the Asian Games. 

They also reminded the athletes to remain focused during this crucial final phase of preparation, maintain their training intensity, ensure adequate rest and take every precaution to avoid injuries.

The visits provided an important opportunity for the Chef de Mission and Deputy CDM to gain first-hand updates on the teams' preparations while reinforcing the collective focus and determination of the Malaysian contingent ahead of the 20th Asian Games.
