Amman, Jordan, August 18, 2026: The Jordan Olympic Committee held a two-day training course entitled "Fundamentals of Protection for Protection Liaison Coordinators" with the participation of representatives from national sports federations.

The course is part of the sports safety strategy aimed at building awareness and competence, and promoting policies which contribute to a safe sports environment for all athletes.

The course also aimed at qualifying protection liaison coordinators among federations according to a unified training curriculum, and to raise their knowledge of the principles and policies of sports safety, in addition to developing their skills in identifying indicators of abuse, violence and neglect, and how to respond to such cases initially.

Participants were also briefed on reporting protocols and their role as the first point of contact within sports federations, which contributes to a culture of prevention and effective handling of potential cases.

With this course, the JOC seeks to build a national network of protection liaison coordinators within sports federations so as to establish a safe and sustainable sports environment.
