Oman to compete in 10 sports at 20th Asian Games

Muscat, Oman, August 11, 2026: Oman will compete in 10 sports at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games from September 19 to October 4.

 

The 10 sports are: athletics, cricket, fencing, hockey, golf, sailing, shooting, taekwondo, beach volleyball and weightlifting.

 

Oman’s participation in the 20th Asian Games comes as part of its continental sporting commitments, with the country’s athletes looking to deliver competitive performances that reflect the level of readiness and preparation for this major Asian sporting event.

 

The Oman Olympic Committee announced that the Omani delegation will be led by Chef de Mission Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rabbi with Hanaa bint Said Al Battashi as Deputy Chef de Mission.

 

Oman’s participation in 10 sports also reflects the country’s growing presence at the Asian showpiece and will provide its athletes with an opportunity to compete and gain valuable experience at continental level.
