Maldives NOC holds Safe Sport Day with child safeguarding sessions

Male, Maldives, August 9, 2026: The Maldives Olympic Committee marked Safe Sport Day with a series of child safeguarding sessions at Kulhudhuffushi in the North of the Maldives on Saturday, August 8.

 

The sessions were held in collaboration with ARC – Advocating the Rights of Children, a Non-Governmental Organisation – UNICEF Maldives and Kulhudhuffushi City Council.

 

It was attended by more than 135 participants drawn from child athletes, coaches, parents and club and academy management, Members of the Maldives Olympic Committee Executive Committee also participated.

 

Three sessions were held to strengthen understanding of child safeguarding and the shared responsibility everyone has in creating safer and more supportive sporting environments for children.

 

The sessions were conducted by Maldives Olympic Committee Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed.

 

The MOC posted: “Thank you to ARC, UNICEF Maldives and Kulhudhuffushi City Council for supporting these sessions and our shared efforts towards making sport safer for children across the Maldives.”
