Nagoya, Japan, August 6, 2026: Rugby sevens is the latest sport to come under the Asian Games spotlight ahead of Aichi-Nagoya 2026 from September 19 to October 4.
Organising committee AINAGOC invites the public to witness the “high-speed action racing across the ground in every direction. Come and cheer on the breathless, fast-paced action unique to the sevens format.”
Rugby sevens features a total of two events — men's and women's.
“With seven players covering the same pitch size as the 15-player game, the space opens up for spectacular runs breaking through gaps at full speed, and a succession of dynamic tries — action you simply cannot look away from,” AINAGOC adds.
The competition venue is Nagoya City Mizuho Park Rugby Field next to the main stadium of the 20th Asian Games. The rugby sevens action starts on October 1, with the two finals on October 3.
